New Extra Sensors for our CO₂-Logger now available

We are happy to announce possibilities to enhance our CO₂-Logger with four additional sensors:

  • Particulate Matter
  • Luminosity
  • UV and
  • Environmental (Pressure, Humidity, Temperature)

Particulate Matter Sensor: Sensirion SPS30

The swiss-made Sensirion SPS30 measures five different particle sizes (0.5, 1, 2.5, 4 and 10µm). Its measurement principle is based on laser scattering and enables accurate measurements throughout its lifetime of more than eight years.

We also have implemented an app in our Web-frontend ng-unrvl where you can monitor your SPS’s values in real-time updating once per second. See the screenshot from our office:

Luminosity Sensor: ams TSL2561

The TSL2561 ambient light sensor from Austrian Sensor company ams gives you a luminosity value directly in lux – in the visible and infrared spectra.

UV Sensor: Vishay VEML6075

The VEML6075 is a real UV sensor (it does not estimate from IR – in contrast to others who do so). It measures UVA and UVB radiation in two distinct channels. Its values can be used to calculate the UV Index for the current location.

Environmental Sensor: Bosch BME280

The Bosch BME280 is the best ambient Pressure/Humidity/Temperature sensor you can get for the Raspberry Pi.

Its pressure value can be used to compensate the SCD30 CO₂-Sensor for even more accurate CO₂ measurements.

Conclusion

When you combine all sensors on our logger board, you can now measure 14 different physical parameters

      • Time
      • Temperature
      • Humidity
      • Pressure
      • CO₂
      • particulate matter (5 sizes)
      • UVA
      • UVB and
      • visible +
      • IR luminosity
